We have had a lovely Christmas here at Glebe Court Nursing Home.
Our Christmas Coffee Morning was a great event and party atmosphere. We welcomed visitors, caught at the entrance with Gill selling raffle tickets, who filled the ‘café’, bought from the lovely stalls in the Conservatory and enjoyed our entertainer Polly. She was great and engaged well with everyone and the staff were even dancing. Residents enjoyed a lively busy morning. Thanks go to the GCRSG (Friend’s group) for all their hard work and to all who supported us. Also, with the raffle,
in the week before, as well. The GCRSG raised £478.60.
Afterwards, we had a lovely group of carol singers from CRC Church in Streatham. This was beautiful and calming after the morning event.
Residents enjoyed a busy December including Christmas themed music sessions from Kwaku, Meina and Natalie, a Church service, Christmas reading and an interactive talk.
Residents and relatives enjoyed a delicious lunch on Christmas Day and Father Christmas (carer James) delivered lovely presents. About one hundred visitors saw their loved ones here over the two festive days.
We also had a fun New Year’s Eve Party, in the afternoon, with fantastic music from Dave and Maxine, followed by a delicious buffet supper with Prosecco. Visitors joined residents and we all sat together on one big table, with Chas and Dave playing in the background. The dining room was fully decorated and everyone was wearing fancy hats.
Our pop up Pub has arrived giving a nice place for visitors to meet and chat with their relatives and for residents to socialise with each other. We will be having monthly pub nights with quiz’s, entertainment etc.
We have started 2019 in a lively way and celebrated Elvis’s Birthday with a Rock and Roll show from Jamie and a Rock and Roll lunch with burgers, hot dogs and banana splits. Again, the dining room was decorated and Elvis music was on in the background.
Happy New Year to all and we look forward to sharing experiences in 2019.
