We know that when it comes to residential care, the quality of food is often a concern.
Meals are prepared on the premises on a daily basis and where possible we use fresh, locally sourced food and seasonal vegetables. Cereal and cooked breakfasts, toast and marmalade, home cooked lunches and suppers plus regular cups of tea and coffee, fruit juices, fresh fruit, cakes and biscuits.
We don’t have set menus that are the same each week or month. Instead we like to vary the food on a regular basis whilst still including our residents’ favourites such as cottage pie, fish and chips, salads, apple pie and custard. We welcome comments and suggestions and always offer at least two choices at each meal times.
Catering for different dietary requirements is not a problem. Many of our residents have diabetes and we provide pureed food to the residents who need it. We can cater for vegetarians, gluten-free diets, halal, kosher and other dietary requirements.
When there are special celebrations such as Burns Night, St Patricks Day or Wimbledon we make a point of celebrating , providing special menus and linking the food with activities. We also provide cakes to help our residents to celebrate birthdays and anniversaries and welcome family and friends to join us.
